To smile at one, usually quickly and perhaps unexpectedly. She was sad this morning, but I think she's feeling better now—she flashed me a smile before she left. Oh my gosh, that cute guy by the bar just flashed me a smile! The cashier seemed pretty down, so I was sure to flash her a smile and thank her for helping me.
