first thing in the morning

Very early in the morning. Eating first thing in the morning just makes me nauseous. Why did you talk to the boss first thing in the morning? You know he's super grumpy before he's had his coffee. I trust Tom, so if he said he'd be over first thing in the morning to sign the papers, he will be.
