To have the sense that one is vulnerable to or unprotected from attack. I felt like a sitting duck walking by myself through the park at night. There was no one speaking on our behalf at the press conference. It made us feel like sitting ducks in front of all those tabloid reporters. No, we can't go into that area unarmed—I'd feel like a sitting duck!
