To use something as the template or model for the way in which something else is created or developed. This short story is so compelling that I really think you could fashion it into a novel. We fashioned a few empty crates into a makeshift table in the middle of our new living room. Her crush fashioned guitar strings into a ring for her, and she is absolutely elated.
