To leave one country to live in another. My great-grandparents emigrated from Ireland when they were just kids. I know the NHL is full of Russian players today, but when I first started watching hockey, it was rare for a player to emigrate from the Soviet Union. The first ones had to defect. I hope my mom's relatives never emigrate from Italy—I love visiting them there!
