To cause one to feel less worry or fear. It really eased my mind to know that the batter I'd accidentally hit in the head was going to be OK. Getting a bonus at work eased Paul's mind about his financial situation after the holidays. I'm sorry, but I had to ease my mind and confess to my parents that we'd lied to them.
