To convey or emphasize a message with particular strength or force. I do know that the city is dangerous—the news drives that point home every single night. A: "And you know that is incredibly unsafe to drink and drive, right?" B: "Yes, Mom, of course. You and my teachers have driven that point home a few thousand times." Her passionate speech about the environment drove the point home that we need more conservation efforts around here.
