To cause the price of something to increase. Having this fancy new restaurant in our neighborhood should drive all of our house prices up. A shortage in parts has seriously driven new cars' prices up. Inflation seems to have driven everything's price up!

and force something upto force the price of something upwards. Someone is buying a lot of gold and driving the price up. They are driving up the price.
