1. An exclamation of surprise or frustration triggered by someone else's actions, especially those considered rude or inappropriate. Whoa, do you mind? Shut the door, I'm getting dressed in here! A: "Do you mind? What are you even doing, getting into my car like that?" B: "I need your help, OK?" Dude, do you mind? This is the women's locker room!
2. An inquiry for permission. Do you mind if I open the window? It's getting stuffy in here. I've had an awful headache all day. Do you mind if I postpone our dinner plans? Hey, do you mind if I put on some music while we sort through this stuff?

1 used to ask permission or make a polite suggestion to do something: Do you mind if I smoke?Do you mind if we discuss this later?
2 (ironic) used to show that you are annoyed about something that somebody has just said or done: This man pushed into me without apologizing so I turned round and said, ‘Do you mind?’ and he looked very embarrassed.
