do well out of (someone or something)

To profit from someone or something. The company hasn't had to file for bankruptcy because it's doing well out of its latest venture. Don't worry about money, I'm confident that I can do well out of this new invention of mine. If we don't do well out of this launch, the company doesn't have much of a future, I'm afraid.
