To be in a romantic relationship with someone. Primarily heard in New Zealand, Ireland. A: "I thought Billy was single." B: "Nah, he's been doing a line with Mel for a few months now." No, I'm not doing a line with Bob—we're good friends and nothing more. We did a line over the summer, but then she dumped me before school started up again.
