To spend a lot of one's money. We had to dig deep into our pockets after our construction budget ballooned beyond what we had planned. Even though I dug into my pockets wooing that prospective employee, he turned down our offer. Wow, Sean certainly didn't dig deep into his pockets when he bought that junker. He'll be lucky to get to the end of the block without it breaking down!
