Totally without musical talent, especially in singing. I think it's lovely that George wants to be in his church choir, but that boy couldn't carry a note in a bucket! A: "Wow, that young girl couldn't carry a note in a bucket." B: "I know, I think she's legitimately tone-deaf." Would someone get that fellow off the stage? He couldn't carry a note in a bucket!
