slang Of an award, to be granted when it is undeserved. Used in the military. I don't think he really earned that medal—I suspect it just came up with the rations. Why are you jealous? That award Tom won obviously came up with the rations. This decoration isn't the kind of thing that comes up with the rations. Al saved a bunch of lives out there.
