To help someone to prepare for something. My daughter struggles with public speaking, so I coached her for the debate. Don't worry, I used to be a recruiter, so I'll coach you for the interview. I know the kinds of questions they ask. I didn't take French in school, so Mom will have to coach you for your oral exam.
