Having a very close relationship; inseparable. I haven't talked to Patty in years, but as kids we were close enough to use the same toothpick. If anyone knows where John is hiding, it's Marty. Those two are close enough to use the same toothpick. Those kids have the same wacky sense of humor—I'm not surprised to hear that they're close enough to use the same toothpick.
