chew (one's) ear

1. To talk incessantly or excessively, especially such that might cause one to become exhausted or bored. I love my Aunt Lily, but she'll chew your ear if you let her! A: "How was your date?" B: "Eh, not great. She just chewed my ear about politics all night." Don't start a conversation with Stu if you want to leave on time tonight—that guy sure can chew your ear.
2. To reprimand one harshly. Oh man, did Mr. Smith ever chew my ear when he found out I still hadn't finished the project! Ooh, Mom is gonna chew your ear when she finds out you're failing math. The boss is totally going to chew our ears if he hears that we lost that big client.
