cheese off

slang To anger or irritate someone. A noun or pronoun can be used between "cheese" and "off." I don't think I said anything to cheese him off, so I'm not sure why he's so mad. I would try not to cheese off the boss today if you can help it—the quarterly sales figures just came in, and she is not in a good mood. All right, Janine is clearly in a bad mood. What did you guys do to cheese her off?
