carry on without (someone or something)

To proceed without the aid or presence of someone or something. I'm really not feeling well today—please, carry on without me. If you leave anything behind at the hotel, you'll just have to carry on without it. The airline lost our luggage, and all we can do is carry on without it.

to manage to continue without someone or something. I don't know how we will be able to carry on without you. We can't carry on without a leader!
