To sign out of one's place of business by means of a magnetic or electronic identity card. All employees are required to card out at the end of each shift to ensure they are paid for the appropriate hours each day. Due to the highly confidential nature of our research, everyone has to card out at the security desk before they may leave the facility. Yeah, I'm ready to leave, I just have to card out.
