To outshine or outperform all other people or things of a similar type or category. Sure, these candidates are good, but Heather caps them all. Have you seen her resume? I've read plenty of good murder mysteries over the years, but this one easily caps them all! There were some good performances during the talent show, but Alice Ann capped them all. I bet that's why they had her go last.
