To be very consistently unlucky. Primarily heard in Australia. I just know that I'm not getting this job. I can't take a trick these days, and I don't think that's going to change now. He lost his job, and then his girlfriend broke up with him? Wow, the poor guy can't take a trick, huh? That celebrity family is caught up in another scandal? Wow, they can't take a trick this year.
