can't be bad

A phrase used to emphasize that something is good, often in an attempt to convince someone of that fact. I know you're not thrilled to be at this event, but hey, free parking can't be bad! Will actual celebrities be at this event? Well, I guess it can't be bad then. A: "Hey, a refund from your insurance company can't be bad." B: "I guess you're right, even if it's only $6.57."

(spoken) used to try to persuade somebody to agree that something is good: You’ll save fifty dollars, which can’t be bad, can it?
