rude slang An "agate" here refers to a playing marble made of agate quartz, used as a euphemism for the testicles.
1. To harass, nag, or upbraid one to do, accomplish, or complete something. The boss is busting everyone's agates to get the project ready by next week. Quit busting my agates! I'll get it done eventually! I wouldn't have to bust your agates if you would just do your chores like you're supposed to!
2. To tease, ridicule, or mock one, usually humorously. Don't get so worked up, man, I'm just busting your agates. I like her family, but her uncle always busts my agates when we see him. You're a rookie on a team full of veterans—of course they're going to bust your agates sometimes.
