bug-out bag

bug-out bag

A bag containing things that would allow one to evacuate and survive in an emergency or disaster situation, often for a minimum of 72 hours. Typical contents include food and water, a first-aid kit, extra clothing, necessary medication, and maps. To "bug out" is a slang term meaning to leave in a hurry. Sometime abbreviated to "BOB." When the hurricane hit, I was very glad that my parents always made us keep a bug-out bag at the ready. A bug-out bag is essential when you live in an area that is so often affected by tornados. It's not like any of us had a bug-out bag prepared—the flooding happened so quickly that we had to evacuate with nothing!

Still, I thought it might be useful to discuss the choices I made in putting together a bug-out bag for me and discuss why it works for me and why it might not work for you.
I opted not to pack weapons in my main bug-out bag for several reasons, not the least of which is I use my guns often and did not want to have to continuously go into my bug-out bag to retrieve them.

On the other hand, emergency gear bags are expected to emerge as a lucrative segment, owing to impressively growing sales of consumer bags such as go bags, ready bags, and bug-out bags. This segment will continue to gain maximum support from indirect sales through retail stores, online stores, and specialty stores.
I have seen several articles on a bug-out bags but nothing on range equipment.
