bring (someone or something) into action

To cause something to happen; to entice someone into doing something. Thankfully, the mechanic was able to bring my car into action again. The protestors hope that their demonstrations will bring our elected officials into action. Bullying has gotten totally out of control. What is it going to take to bring the school board into action about this?
