break (one's) stones

1. rude slang To harass, nag, or upbraid one to do, accomplish, or complete something. "Stones" is a slang term for testicles. The boss is breaking everyone's stones to get the project ready by next week. Quit breaking my stones! I'll get it done eventually! Just take the garbage out already, and Dad will stop breaking your stones!
2. rude slang To work very hard. I've been breaking my stones studying for this exam, so I really hope I get a good grade. We broke our stones cleaning the house before Mom got here, and she still said her room was dusty! Don't break your stones getting over here, there's no rush.
