1. verb To drink the entirety of something. The kids wasted no time bottoming their sodas and asking for more. I can usually bottom a bottle of wine by myself. There better be free refills here because these guys can bottom their drinks in record time.

2. noun The absolute lowest or worst point. (Often used in the phrase "rock bottom.") The price of milk is at rock bottom right now, which is great for consumers, but bad for farmers. I knew I had hit bottom when I missed my son's birthday party because I was hungover. That's when I knew I needed to get professional help. The film is about a washed-up pop star who finds himself at rock bottom after his former manager swindles him out of all his money.

3. noun One's buttocks. Jimmy tripped and landed right on his bottom. Babies know that falling on your bottom is just part of learning to walk—they aren't embarrassed by it at all. Would you get up off your bottom and help me with these bags?

4. noun In baseball and softball, the second half of an inning. It's the bottom of the ninth, and the Angels are winning 7–6. We're the home team today, so we don't bat till the bottom of the first. Every kid dreams about being the hero who hits a walk-off in the bottom of the ninth.

5. noun In sexual activity between two men, the person who is penetrated (and who is often viewed as submissive). If you're both bottoms, then what are you going to do in the bedroom? A: "Wait, your hot friend's a bottom?" B: "Yep. Should I tell him you're interested?" I had high hopes for my date, but he's a top, and I'm looking for a bottom.
