To cause one to be extremely bored, to the point of distraction, frustration, or irritation. Today's lecture bored me to death. A: "Sorry for dozing off, but these old-timey movies bore me to death." B: "Fine, go back to sleep then." You need to work on your speech, or you're going to bore your audience to death!

Extremely bored, especially to the point of distraction, frustration, or irritation. I was bored to death listening to that lecture this afternoon. We thought a week in a secluded cabin with no TV or Internet would make for some great family bonding, but we all became bored to death after a couple of days. A: "Sorry for dozing off, but I just get bored to death watching these old-timey movies." B: "Fine, go back to sleep then."
