blow the cobwebs away

To energize or invigorate oneself. ("Cobwebs" are spider webs that are typically found in abandoned spaces.) When was the last time you left the house? Come on, get outside for a walk and blow the cobwebs away! An early-morning run always blows the cobwebs away before starting work. After being sick for two weeks, I'm excited to get out and blow the cobwebs away.
