be on course to (do something)

To be progressing or developing as planned, scheduled, or expected toward some goal or end point. A: "What's the status of the project, Samantha?" B: "Barring any unforeseen setbacks, we should be on course to launch by December, as planned." If sales remain strong, we'll be on course to have our most successful year to date! Those two have been dating since high school, so they're definitely on course to get married.
