1. To be finished with one's work for the day. I'll be off work at 6, if you want to meet me then. I need to get these presents wrapped before my wife is off work. A: "Want to go to a movie later?" B: "Sure! What time are you off work?"
2. To not be attending work (for some period of time). I'll be off work all of next month, but my colleague will be handling your case if you need anything while I'm gone. I'm off work for two weeks in December, so we can hang out then! I'm on maternity leave, and it definitely feels odd to be off work for the next few months.
