be nerve-wracking
be nerve-wracking
To be fear or anxiety-inducing. A lot of people think skydiving is nerve-wracking, but when I jump out of an airplane, I'm actually completely calm. Waiting for a doctor to call with biopsy results is always so nerve-wracking. I've always hated the dentist. Even routine cleanings are totally nerve-wracking.
