be into (someone) for (something)
1. To be in debt to someone for some amount. Thank you so much for loaning me that money. I must be into you for thousands by now. It's worse than I thought—a loan shark is into him for tens of thousands. I'm into my brother for hundreds, thanks to that unexpected medical bill.
2. To be expecting a payment from someone for some amount. The contractor is already into us for thousands, so we better not have another leak! The city is into us for $10,000. What are we going to do? People don't realize until it's too late that these predatory loan companies are into them for thousands of dollars.
