To be very deeply involved with or immersed in something. There's no way I can take a vacation right now, I'm head over ears in work at the moment! I only meant to have a consulting role, but before I knew it I was head over ears in David's new business venture! You'll be head over ears in debt if you don't stop charging everything to your credit card.
