To have more of something than one possibly needs, wants, or can handle. I knew it would be complicated getting a new business off the ground, but I've been drowning in paperwork for weeks! Trust me, he can afford it. His family is positively drowning in money. Mom, the kids are drowning in toys. They really don't need any more!
