1. To be very calm or relaxed. Sometimes used as an imperative. I thought he would have been upset, but he was surprisingly chill about the whole thing. A: "Oh my gosh, I'm so nervous! What if they fire me?" B: "Yo, be chill. Everything's going to be fine. Come on, be chill. If you act all guilty, the teacher will definitely suspect us!
2. To be exceptionally good, especially in a trendy manner. A: "Was the movie good?" B: "Yeah, dude, it was chill." The concert was so chill, you would have loved it. That place is pretty chill—why don't you have your birthday dinner there?
3. To be not at all problematic; to not be a cause for worry, concern, or upset. A: "Hey, man, I'm sorry for bailing on you last night." B: "It's chill, don't worry about it." Oh, you're running late? Nah, it's chill, I brought my book with me, so I'll just hang out. It's chill, we'll catch up some other time, man.
