To be visually pleasing or attractive. This phrase is often used in the negative to convey ugliness or disorder. All the Christmas lights on our street are such a pretty sight! I tried painting the house myself, but the result was not a pretty sight. Well, aren't you a pretty sight! I've missed you, babe.
