To be exceptionally skilled or experienced in a particular activity, craft, or field. Not to toot my own horn, but I consider myself to be a bit of a past master at cooking. You should ask Jen—she is a real past master at dealing with this sort of stuff. He's always been a past master at getting by with doing as little work as possible.
