A phrase intended to encourage someone to do something, especially something they are reluctant or unsure about. Primarily heard in UK. A: "Oh, be a devil and get dessert." B: "But what about my diet?" Now, go on, be a devil and steal the test answers for us! Come on, be a devil and skip that stupid meeting.
