be (as) common as pig tracks

To be very common, ordinary, or widespread. At first, they were quite novel and interesting, but now these little organic cafés are getting to be common as pig tracks. Trashy crime novels like his are as common as pig tracks, but at least he's doing what he loves. Lady Mary won't be impressed with wine that's common as pig tracks—we must serve something else!
