be (all) tore up

"Tore up" is a colloquial variant of "torn up."
1. To be very upset or emotional. Sean has been really tore up since his wife left him. A: "Did you know that Joe died?" B: "I know, I can't believe it. I've been all tore up since I heard the news." Thank goodness you found our cat! We've been all tore up since she ran away.
2. To be very sorry and remorseful. She says she's all tore up about the whole thing, but I think she's just sorry she got caught. I know you're angry with him, but Tom is genuinely tore up about what happened. You have a clear shot at the trophy now, so I'm pretty sure you're not actually tore up about my disqualification.
3. slang To be very drunk. Do you remember last night at all? You were so tore up you could barely speak! Well, I must have been all tore up if I got up and did karaoke at the bar! Help him get home, will ya? He started drinking whiskey, and now he's tore up.
