slang Hair. The term comes from rhyming slang in which "barnet" is short for "Barnet Fair," which rhymes with "hair." Primarily heard in UK. Do you have a hairdresser you could recommend? I need to do something about my barnet. When you have a cowlick, you never know how your barnet's going to look in the morning. Stop over on Tuesday, and I'll trim your barnet free of charge.
