1. Literally, in one's place of residence with someone or something. I was at home with the kids all day and the repairman never came. Please tell me one of you is at home with the dog. I hear that Jenny is at home with her son because he's not feeling well.
2. Very comfortable or proficient with something. There was an adjustment period, but I'm at home with my new job now. Yeah, she did her thesis on postmodernism, but she's very at home with Victorian lit too—she's actually quite the Tennyson buff. I do run most of the time, but I'm at home with yoga too, you know.
