Very tense or nervous; jittery. A: "Why is Don pacing?" B: "I think he's all wound up because he's next to get a performance review." Ugh, I hate having to talk to the boss about my pay. That happened hours ago, and I still feel all wound up! Carrie's all wound up because she's waiting for the doctor to call with her test results.
