To accept a proposal or idea in accord with others; to reach a consensus. The union and the company have finally agreed on the terms of the new contract. Bob and Sheila are both so busy that they can't agree upon a date for the party. My fiancé and I are of like mind on many things, but we just can't agree on how many guests to invite to our wedding.
