administer (something) to (one)
1. To provide something to one, usually a form of care or help. The organization held a fundraiser so that they could administer aid to the poor. Our consulate is dedicated to administering assistance to all US citizens who have been affected by the earthquake in Japan. That charity administers aid to the homeless population in this part of the city.
2. To inject or deliver something to one, such as medication. The doctor administered the flu shot to his patient. That other nurse said they might have to administer IV antibiotics to my mom, is that true? Now, we're going to administer the anesthesia to the surgical patient.
