a stitch
1. Someone who is very humorous or amusing. Oh, Lydia's a stitch—she had me laughing all night long. A: "You'll have fun sitting with Rob, he's a stitch." B: "Thank goodness—this event is dreadfully dull!" Katie was always a stitch in high school, so I'm not surprised to hear she's hilarious as a co-worker.
2. A sudden, sharp pain, usually felt in one's side, as during strenuous activity. A: "Hey, I did run after the burglar!" B: "Yeah, but only until you got a stitch!" I've never been into running—I feel like I get a stitch so easily! Hey, slow down, I've got a stitch in my side!
