a danger foreseen is half-avoided

a danger foreseen is half-avoided

proverb Being aware of a danger helps you to prepare and avoid the full brunt of it. In the winter, I always listen to the weather forecast so that I'm never caught by surprise by a snowstorm. A danger foreseen is half avoided, after all. Thank goodness I saw it when the couch fall off that guy's truck! I still had to swerve around him, but, truly, a danger foreseen is half-avoided. I know they say that a danger foreseen is half-avoided, but I have no interest going into the tiger enclosure—I'm willing to fully avoid that danger!
