old-timer

1. A person who is older in age. Often used as a term of address. Hey, old-timer—let me help you carry those! There are a few old-timers who come into the restaurant every morning like clockwork.

2. Someone who has a lot of experience in some activity, field, or profession (whether or not they are actually elderly). Often used as a term of address. I'm giving you a desk next to Martin. He's an old-timer in the company, and he'll help show you the ropes.

small-timer

Someone whose actions, successes, or influence are of only minor or modest importance. See, your problem is that you lack ambition and dedication. That's why I run my own business, while you'll always be a small-timer. We can't waste our resources chasing after these small-timers. We need to catch the people running this criminal enterprise.

two-timer

One who has sexual relations with someone other than their romantic partner. After I found out that Jed had been sleeping with the woman next door, I packed up my bags and divorced that two-timer as quickly as I could. My last girlfriend turned out to be a two-timer, so I know how hurtful it can be.

old-timer

n. an old person; an old man. (Also a term of address.) Ask that old-timer over there if it has always been this bad around here.
